Churchie STEM Racing team
We're four students from Anglican Church Grammar School in Brisbane, and we design, build and race our own miniature Formula 1 car. We won our regional final, and now we're chasing a national title. Help us get there.

The car
Every panel is modelled, CFD-tested and refined by the team before it's ever cut. This is our latest render, fresh off the design bench.

Eclipse is an enterprise built on creativity, resilience and greatness. We're a group of science, technology, engineering and maths enthusiasts from the Gifted Program at Anglican Church Grammar School (Churchie) in East Brisbane, and we're competing in the STEM Racing State Competition.
Our goal is to win the national competition with a car that can complete the 20 metre track in under 1.1 seconds, backed by a brand people can recognise on an international scale. Our regional win is proof we mean it.
Competing at this level costs real money, so we're looking for partners who want to back young innovators.
The competition
STEM Racing, previously known as F1 in Schools, is described by the Re-engineering Australia Foundation as the “foremost student competition for STEM”. Teams design and race a miniature F1 inspired car while building a recognisable brand at the same time.
The cars are powered by a CO2 canister and race down a 20 metre track. Doing well takes more than speed. You need great portfolios, strong branding, and the skills to design and manufacture a car that cuts through the air.

Head of Finance
Looks after the money and represents Eclipse to the outside world. Shreyan also runs our social media, this website and the technology side of the team. He finds sponsors for the team.

Head of Engineering
The person behind the car. James leads our CAD work, digs into the aerodynamics, and makes sure we understand every rule in the regulations.

Head of Enterprise
Shapes how Eclipse looks and feels. Lachie runs our brand development and graphic design, and keeps an eye on the risks that could slow us down.
Our project
A full engineering portfolio that records how we plan, design, test and improve, including the things that didn't work.
We design the car in CAD and test it with Computational Fluid Dynamics, so we know how it moves through air before we ever make it.
We have to explain and defend our decisions to judges, out loud and under pressure.
We design and build a display that shows off the Eclipse brand at events. Getting this right is a big part of our funding goal.
Our supporters
Huge thanks to the businesses backing Team Eclipse on our journey to the state finals.
Sponsorship
Our car and trade display are expected to cost about $5,000 in total. In return for your support, you get an exclusive marketing deal as a champion of youth innovation, with your brand in front of a state and possibly national audience.
